Epilation by Nd:YAG laser
Overcomes and reduces problems and disadvantages of epilation by other lasers and epilation procedures.
ST MEDICA hospital is the first hospital in this region which has introduced the latest technology Nd-YAG laser in this practice. This laser emits beams with wave length of 1064 nm, and the primary target is the hemoglobin of the circulation around the hair root as well as the hair follicule itself.
The laser has proven itself in long-term clinical practice as the most efficient and the safest of all epilation lasers.
Nd-YAG laser not only achieves even better and faster results but may treat even thin hairs and all skin types which can not be achieved by diode laser and other laser models. That is achieved by precise parameter setting (power, frequency, fluence of the effect period...) by a competent doctor, which contributes to better efficiency during operation as well as shortening the time for treatment itself.
Unwanted hairs present a serious problem both for women and men.
In women the most problematic regions are primarily the face, then groins, lower legs and armpits. Epilation with the Nd-YAG laser in these regions is extremely desirable because those are the regions where the hairs are most likely to grow in and lead to follicule inflammation - folliculitis, by creating pimples and boils on the skin. The only way to permanently cure folliculitis and growing in of the hairs is precisely with epilation by Nd-YAG medical laser whose target is both the hair being treated as well as the core of the inflammation process around the hair root i.e. folliculitis.
Armpits and groins may be safely treated with Nd-YAG laser because the laser beam penetrates just a couple of millimeters into the skin so as not to endanger the gland structures which are located far deeper.
Naturally, men are also not spared from unwanted hairs.
Most often increased hairiness is present in the regions of cheekbones, neck, shoulders, back and stomach. There are many satisfied male patients. Some of them do it due to esthetic reasons and some, like top athletes, for practical reasons.
By means of direct contact the laser beam is directed to the skin which guarantees maximum safety and efficiency. Laser beam is resorbed by the hair follicle pigment – melanine. Light energy of the laser beam is transferred in the skin into heat which permanently destroys hair follicles - photothermolysis.
3-5 treatments are necessary in order to destroy hairs in the treated region.
Treatments are done with a break of 4-6 weeks.
Four weeks before and after the laser treatment it is not allowed to:
- pluck hairs with tweezers
- bleach hairs
- wax hairs
- use roacutane
- in case of predisposition to herpes protective therapy is prescribed before the intervention
All body parts apart from the region around the eyes may be treated.
Contraindications:
- pregnancy
- malignant diseases
- systemic diseases
- hemophilia
- epilepsy
- use of medicines which lead to increased photosensitive skin reaction
