Removal of skin alterations
There is a great number of alterations on skin of which some may represent health problems, such as various timorous tumefaction, then benign changes that may have a malignant character due to their localization and that require serious reconstructive procedures after the operation as well as a number of changes of esthetic character.
Most frequently, all the changes may be removed in local anesthesia, in a relatively short surgical procedure, which does not require special preoperative preparations and special postoperative recovery. All the excised changes are sent to histopathological verification. Apart from classical operative methods and related to the character of the change itself as well as its size and localization, the procedure may be performed by a laser or radio-waves in local anesthesia, which enables the skin to regenerate quickly and does not leave visible scars.
Moles that usually cause fear in patients may be removed as well. The removal is suggested if the mole changes, grows, itches, bleeds without having been hurt or if there appears secretion; also if its colour changes or its boundary lines become unclear compared to the surrounding tissue. Beside this, moles that do not change, but are located in the places exposed to injuries, should be removed, as well. The removal of moles is performed by surgical excision in local anesthesia and then the histopathological verification of excised alteration is compulsory.
